  • Flawed. What jobs are Greece lacking workers for? Can the said migrants fill those roles while simultaneously getting integrated into the societal norms and customs?

    If yes. Cool.

    If no. Not a solution.

I don’t agree to the pushing people into the sea. But one problem is not the solution to a different one.

Quota migrants are the way to go. Human trafficking is bad.

  • Ye that’s right.

You could have the AR-15 legal as a functioning weapon. But make requirements such as fixed stock and 16" barrel. Such requirements would make the rifle more life a semi automatic hunting rifle instead of a tactical assault weapon.

Here in Norway you can acquire an AR-15 kind of rifle with many modifications. But the requirement is and active membership in dedicated shooting club. There are also requirements for activity in the club. If you want a regular rifle you can take a short course required for all hunters and buy the rifle after applying for a permit to the police.

I think that’s fair as you regulate what kind of weapon people with different interests can have.

  • I don’t get it. I go to Instagram a couple of times a day. I start scrolling. The third post is something I haven’t followed or liked. Then the fourth, and the fifth. So I close the app. I spend like 5 minuter there daily. The whole discover page is just filled with trash I have no interest for.

Sure I enjoy climbing. But I don’t care for videos of people tying knots or lightly dressed chicks doing some low grade bouldering. Why does the app think it’s better than me?

  • Even the Norwegian media hyper normalized that Clinton would win. The news cycle was a circlejerk for how amazing Clinton was and how stupid hair Trump had. When push came to shove on the election day I couldn’t do anything else but laugh.

Clinton booked this huge avenue with a major show to be out on when she won. The balloons weren’t dropped and she didn’t even show on stage. Trump had his election speech in a conference room in his hotel. It was a perfect display of the establishments arrogance and it confirmed Trump’s rambling.

Ffs I don’t want it to happen again. Please no. But I believe the 2016 election was good for your democracy. If you sleep in a democracy you wake up in a dictatorship.

Put Trump in jail and do some actual draining of the swamp soon.

  • A great example of how this class operates. Our foreign minister from the Labour party had to step down due to suspicions of providing her husband with inside information on government contracts to public traded companies. The husband bought stocks and they made some cash.

The reward for this corruption is a new position as our ambassador to the US. She officially got the job two days ago.

We have seen this upper class of politicians never having to stand responsible for their actions for some years now. On both sides.

There’s no wonder people get desperate. The only solution they get provided is using their vote. And when they do use it they get called out for using it the “wrong” way.

Either the current politicians fix their shit, or the people will topple them. It’s fairly predictable.

  • The rise of right wing parties might be a consequence of the left wings failure to govern.

In Norway the Labour Party was the biggest party for decades. Now the party is infested with politicians using it for career paths to NGO’s or international organisations like UN and EU. The same party made for the labourers implements tax policies making it really hard to start industries.

Money are being spent on the most incredible projects bearing no fruit for future generations.

At a point people get fed up, and in desperation they have to vote further to the right. If you want less government spending on stupid projects you also have to get some fascism.

The problem is not the right wing parties or stupid people. The problem is worthless left wing politicians not contributing positive to the nation.

    It saddens me.

  • Being a pedestrian in Amsterdam can be pretty bad. Dutch on bikes are insane. No slowing down is allowed. The bike might be rigged like the bus in Speed or whatever. Ready to explode.

People on heavy e-bikes are riding 25km/h over pedestrian crossings with poor visibility.

It is dangerous, and should be treated as such.

Cars in Amsterdam is a much smaller consern than bikes. Really.

Been there. Beautiful city. Terrible biking culture. The Dutch know. They reference it occasionally.
