Good luck getting -2/3- 3/4 of the states to ratify it.

Do they use the BSD userland instead? Interesting…
Perhaps the definition isn’t good enough or accurate. What would you call a system that perhaps uses Darwin kernel or Hurd plus GNU user land, or any combo of.
Except for this law.
IANAL, he is probably breaking other laws too.
I am still hoping it will hit 10% market share within my life time. I remember when it was predicted to hit that in 2010, obviously it didn’t happen*. Of course for me personally, the year of the Linux Desktop was 2007 when I was finally able to use it as my main OS at home, I tried it before many times since 2003.
* not counting systems that use the Linux kernel but aren’t considered a traditional GNU+Linux desktop.
Stallman warned us, we didn’t listen.
I’m glad to see BadVista still up https://badvista.fsf.org/blog/view/?set_language=en
At what point does this all just become sinophobia?
Not as bad as you make it out to be, and I actually worked in the US with more Chinese engineers than US engineers.
It is not illegal is it?
If it is legal, then thank you China for the free backup.
A lot of progress needs to be made and laws and regulations are slow to catch up, but at least things are trending in the right direction:
Qatar takes action to protect workers from extreme heat
UAE’s midday break for outdoor workers begins on June 15
As opposed to regressing:
Florida joins Texas in banning local heat protections for outdoor workers
“Arabs bad. must have nefarious motive”
So they are forcing their own interpretation of Christianity on everyone? I guess that the US doesn’t have separate courts for other religions… So no one’s allowed divorce even if allowed in their religion? this can’t be legal.
To think that the caliphate at least allowed Jews and Christians to have their own religious courts.
They can’t prohibit it for other faiths though. Jews, Muslims, and so on can still divorce… right?
At least the Fediverse exists.
Under the law in Texas, doctors who perform abortions risk life in prison, fines of up to $100,000 and revocation of their state medical licenses.
This is excessive. Way too much. Cruel and unusual punishment is against the US constitution.
Seriously, just consider the following from bad evil theocratic authoritarian Saudi Arabia:
Expat doctor, nurse arrested in Saudi Arabia over unsafe abortions
The Ministry of Health in Riyadh referred the two medical professionals to the public prosecutor, and they face imprisonment for up to six months and a fine of up to $26,000 (100,000 riyals).
What is the punishment for a doctor performing an illegal abortion in Texas?
Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, had an interesting article about abortion laws in some US states and how they compare back in 2019 before Roe v. Wade was repealed. Alabama, Iran, or Saudi Arabia? We Checked Where Abortion Laws Are Better for Women
Remember when Google used to give good search results?
He’s old though. Russia is too cold.
Just capitalization and autocompleting variable names with correct grammar is handy
We have had IDEs for decades
That’s even harder.
