I remember being in the Stardew Vallet subr×ddit with someone talking about their guilt pirating the game because they really really enjoyed playing it but just couldn’t afford the 15$ price at the moment.

Several players graciously offered to purchase & gift them the game on Steam.

It was so lovely.

People will happily pay for good, enjoyable games they feel are worth the price.

I’d like to play that new Princess Peach game one day, but there’s no fucking way I’m paying 60$ to play a game I’m not even sure I’ll like.

Y’all focusing on them hoping to pump out “poor, uneducated wage slaves” or whatever, but there’s a much bigger reason why conservatives want those children to be born.

With foster care conditions being so absolutely abhorrent in its current state, it’s very easy for a child to get “lost in the system”. Add in the trauma of being a child in that situation, and it is a recipe for disaster. These adults… want those vulnerable kids.

There’s a business in that. And there are folks who want those unwanted children.

I never stated my opinion on the matter. Just restating what a lawyer is saying about the ruling and why it went the way it did.

Judging by the comments on this post, many many men seem to be very upset about it.

Also wild comments saying things like “Oh, why not make a rideshare that forbids black people??”

Making things safer for women = discrimination against men?

Lots of men are making this about themselves. It’s awful to see.

I think that as things become more popular or more commonly culturally accepted, its usage (especially if it is more new in its acceptance) can be exploited by grifters looking to benefit.

There are those people, certainly, but I don’t see it in itself as an inherently “religious” thing.

Yoga used to be thought of in much of the same way, and even grifted as “the true way to healing” by grifters, but it’s more understood now, and the grifters have mostly moved on now.

However, if bad-faith actors and grifters latch onto & continue to meld with a trend/idea for hundreds and hundreds of years with people offering no further understanding of the thing in question… maybe be wary of that thing.
