I think the goal is to make trans people suffer in fear, for the simple reason that their existence confuses Republicans and makes them feel funny.
Turns out that giving them tens of billions of dollars worth of weapons doesn’t discourage them from using weapons.
The rise of Poilievre is very depressing because of what it reveals about the Canadian people.
Neither vote will. Trump’s even worse on Gaza, if that’s possible. So you may as well vote on other issues.
This must be that famous Republican commitment to free speech and opposition to “cancel culture”.
Republicans have such narrow and shortsighted vision. Sure, removing regulations and faking safety data makes someone a quick buck today, but the reasons for the regulations and standards haven’t gone away and people will suffer.
Actually, as I type that I realize it may not be short-sightedness so much as just not caring about anyone’s suffering but your own. Or maybe the one gives rise to the other. For many of us, to live in a world with so much suffering is tangibly our own suffering too, so we’re motivated to reduce others’ suffering even if we are selfish. But a very extremely selfish and egotistical person may hardly feel others’ suffering at all compared to the pleasure they feel from their own short-term profit.
They make their own world worse but they’re too blinkered to see it or care. I guess that’s the mindset of many Republicans.
It’s just that the NYT isn’t the progressive institution people wish it was. Its thing is old-fashioned liberalism that will say progressive-sounding things when nothing much is at stake, but will go quiet, or distract with “lifestyle” articles and vapid opinion pieces, when it matters.
Threatening civilian aircraft and control infrastructure. I guess Israel has a right to defend itself against civilians minding their own business everywhere.
Aside from being “literally demonic,” Wallnau has claimed that Harris only beat Trump in the debate earlier this month because of “witchcraft.”
“When I say ‘witchcraft’,” he tweeted, “I am talking about what happened tonight. Occult empowered deception, manipulation and domination. That’s what ABC pulled off as moderators, and Kamala’s script handlers set up the kill box. One sided questions and fact checking sealed the box. Witchcraft. It’s not over yet, but something supernatural needs to disrupt this counterfeit momentum because the same public that voted in Obama is voting again and her deception is advancing.”
He has also repeatedly called Harris a Jezebel and accused her of having a “Jezebel spirit” — which, in addition to being a feminist website, a mediocre Bette Davis movie, and a lady from the Bible who is supposed to be especially evil but does not appear to have done anything more disturbing than the “good guys” of the Bible did (including God) apart from the fact that she did them while being a woman and having a different religion, has also long been used as a slur against Black women.
This is who the Republicans align with. In 2024, as humanity faces its greatest crisis ever in climate change, these people drag us back into arguments over whether Black women are witches or demons.
Notice how he calls fact checking “occult empowered deception, manipulation and domination.” That’s what he sees when someone checks facts. And his godly answer to that is… Donald Trump. That’s just as nuts as anything he can say about demons.
And who’s the one on the side of the occult when he says, “something supernatural needs to disrupt this counterfeit momentum because the same public that voted in Obama is voting again”? He admits that the public support Harris, so calls for supernatural intervention against democracy. This is the value system of modern Republicans, dressed up as religion. In the end it’s just “men like me get to control everyone else.” No surprise that these people say man was created in God’s image, when their God just happens to agree in every way with their nasty men.
This article is from 2018.
It’s shocking how terrified all these universities are of even the slightest criticism of Israel and its genocide.
But then you need to pay employees.
It does not distinguish between civilians and fighters, but a majority of the 34,344 dead can be identified as civilians based on age and gender alone. It includes 11,355 children, 2,955 people aged 60 or older, and 6,297 women. There are also many civilian men of fighting age who have been killed.
Israel claims it has killed 17,000 militants, without providing evidence. It does not provide an estimate of civilians killed in Gaza.
There are only 13,107 of the dead who could be men of working age, so Israel’s claim of 17,000 militants killed is very unlikely to be true unless Hamas fighters include a lot of women, children and old people, or unless Israel is saying it knows it has killed very many more people than reported.
Come on, it’s not like she murdered someone rich.
Wouldn’t the easiest remedy just be to use adequate shielding around sensitive systems? Is there a reason this would be too difficult?
But it’s glitchy, the numbers don’t work, and you’ll notice the player never looks behind them.
I watched the video and there are two scenes where the player turns to look directly back where they just came from.
Entirely coincidentally, this was also the view of the Nazis. And also entirely coincidentally, Trump used to keep a book of Hitler’s speeches by his bedside.
Every company is still doing this even though studies have shown it puts customers off.
If it works like most AI ad engines, it will keep advertising more of the same Ford car you just bought.
