The problem is that in many places there are no alternatives to driving. Taking away licenses from “those who shouldn’t have licenses” restricts their access to regular life so massively that you don’t do it unless there’s no more room to doubt the decision. The question moves from “do you meet the maximum safety standards” to “do you meet the minimum safety standards”.

The solution is to either make driving foolproof or to provide viable alternatives to those unfit (or unwilling) to drive.

The whole design philosophy of the car is fucked and we have designed for failure.

What do you even mean with that? Pi asks questions and certainly feels curious and engaged in conversation. Even chatgpt will ask for more information if it doesn’t find the requested information in, for example, an Excel spreadsheet you upload.

Are they still a victim if they’ve been yelled at for close to a decade that these kinds of things are the standard for Facebook/Meta? I’ve tried telling friends and family so damn often but they just don’t care.

It’s like giving someone you pass on the street your ID, walking away and thinking “man, I can’t believe that guy has my ID”. I’m with you if they really don’t know, I’m sure many don’t. But so many know fully well and just don’t care.

If you ask me both are to blame. Meta is only in a position where they get away with this stuff because people are practically encouraging it.

24° is the sweet spot for me but anything under 30° is fine for me if it’s a dry heat.

I think in the email they sent out they mentioned that each IP would be able to download 5 per 24 hours and “registered users” 10 per 24 hours. Paid members would be restricted to 1,000 per 24 hours.

It’s 15 bucks a year for VIP, if I understood it correctly, then I am of the opinion there is nothing here to get mad about for “regular users”.

To be fair, at least it recognized that it was short enough and didn’t take out stuff it shouldn’t.
