The drumbeat from so-called feminists and the “liberal media” would have just kept on going until he did.

Ugh, I just got done listening to the portion in the audiobook for Maher’s book where he goes over how the #metoo thing was only really a weapon used against Democrats and talks about Franken.
I’d love to see Franken run, but the depressing fact is that he was thrown under the bus for a ridiculous overreaction called the #metoo thing, and there will be many so-called feminists coming for him with guns blazing.
Thing is, these people will not be satisfied with “only” coming after a certain subset of citizens, by the way.
That’s just it, though - because he decided to run again, and is an incumbent, very few challenged him.
That one year made a huge difference, I guess.
Who cares how old they are as long as they have the right positions on the issues and a sound mind? I love having people with some wisdom in there.
Get Gavin Newsom in there. If there is someone better than he is for this role, put them in there. For the love of god, I hope they don’t end up with Kamala though. She’s going to have the same problem as Hillary only more so.
But Biden’s numbers are just not looking good. His performance is already being used in campaign ads. I just don’t know how he wins in 2024.
This. I’m behind Biden 100% if he’s on the ticket this fall. No other option. But I’d much rather the Democratic Party switch him out right now, because the low-info, the Elevated Centrists, the normies, etc…are going to stay home or vote for donnie given what we all saw with our own eyes. It hurts to say it, even to think it, but it’s the truth. And it will cost us dearly as anyone in this country that is not some far-right wing demon.
No amount of DNC gaslighting is going to change that fact.
Yeah, I’m thinking of all the low-info types that will be shown clips of Biden, etc…and go vote for donnie, because, hey, at least he’s younger.
I don’t give a rip about Biden’s age - it’s just a number and I’m not someone dumb enough to think being younger makes a politician somehow magically better than someone older. And if he’s slower and has senior moments - SFW. As long as he wins. Then Kamala can be President if he needs to step down. But we need to win. And that is not likely to happen with the way things are going right now.
Look, I’ll vote for Biden this fall, because really, voting blue is the only serious option. And I’d be all for Weekend At Bernie’s the entire 4 years of his second term; there is a chain of succession and he’ll have people around him that are competent. I’m not worried about that. Anything else is helping donnie.
But c’mon. Is Biden the only candidate that the Democratic Party really has? Can he actually win? After that performance?
Oh please. Just stop the gaslighting.
Put someone else in there. Someone that will FIGHT like hell for this country and its people against the con menace.
It’s anyone they suspect, like, say, Quakers, or maybe vegan potluck groups. Timothy Leary and John Lennon.
It only applies to non-xtians, brown people, and liberals.
Indeed. This country is so rigged to favor the cons due to how unevenly things are tilted to the rural areas and giving them far too much of a voice. The cons are WAY over-represented in Congress and a con has not won the popular vote in how long?
This country is so fucked. Much of the culture is checked out; a lot of the left/liberal movement seem to be up its own asshole in goofy pandering that seems designed to only churn out more donnie voters, and the cons are making plans, and basically announcing them to everyone.
Also, I’ll vote Biden no matter what this fall, but the Democratic Party had better seriously consider removing him and selecting someone else. Otherwise, Biden’s chief legacy that is actually remembered will be helping to enable the dismantling of this country by being so egotistical as to think he’s the only one that could beat donnie in 2024.
You are getting downvoted, but I have seen a bit of this myself and I understand why people would really start to resent this kind of thing. I grew up dirt poor, but I get a lot of messaging about how I should “check my privilege” from people much further up the economic ladder than I am now and certainly where I came from. I used to shrug off this ignorance based on racism, but it’s become more prevalent and definitely more strident. I’m to shut up entirely and listen to others merely and only because of demographics? No, I’m not having it. That’s about as bigoted as it gets.
I don’t think the answer is to vote for a terrorist like donnie or demons like any Republican politician. I really don’t know what the answer is. I just don’t think that some of the people pushing extremely racist things while supposedly under the banner of equity even have any clue just how many Republicans they are probably creating. When you go around preaching at people, and telling them they are the source of so many problems and they need to just listen at all times to a certain set of self-selected demographics, or else be accused of all kinds of things, people really don’t take it all that well.
I honestly think outfits like Disney are purposefully doing things to whip up white cishet resentment and get more cons into power. I realize how conspiracy-minded that statement is, but their over the top cartoonish DEI/pandering stuff seems almost DESIGNED to turn people into Republicans. It’s really hard to explain their actions as being profit-driven.
The people voting for donnie are not really voting for any serious policies; they are just flailing around and are told all Democrats are behind the more silly outbursts from the fringe. They think they’ll put Hollywood into “their place”, but what’s most likely is that they’ll just get more dirty air, hotter and hotter climate, dirty water, more corporate welfare, no worker protections, no healthcare, no education for their kids, and on and on. And all to get those wokesters…
Oh, FFS.
This is a feature for the cons. If someone thinks they can be shamed out of it, they are delusional or just extremely low-info.
Nah, how about we put up the most likely to win that has policies that are popular, regardless if they happen to be a white man or not. I’m sure most POC within the Democratic Party can recognize attempts at manipulation by ticking checkboxes and pandering.
